A series of games and apps for brand activations: virtual reality experiences, motion sensors and real objects that put the audience in the shoes of a professional athlete.
Sports Activations brings together several projects developed for sports-themed events and brand activations. Each one takes attendees into a different discipline — American football, baseball, tennis and hockey — and has them play with their own bodies.
The series is rounded out by an avatar app so fans can take home a personalized souvenir in their team's colors.
Wearing a virtual reality headset, the player becomes a receiver inside a professional stadium. Their team throws passes, and the goal is to catch them with their hands.
In this game, the player picks up a real bat and uses it to hit a virtual ball. The bat's movement is mirrored on screen to simulate the swing, with a scoreboard for home runs, power and outs.
Using Kinect, the game tracks the player's body and turns their arm movements into racket swings. No controller in hand: just swing to return the ball.
Here the player is the goalie. Kinect tracks their body to move the goalie gear on screen, and the mission is to stop as many pucks as possible before time runs out.
To wrap up the experience, Bobblehead creates a virtual avatar of the user with an oversized head. It can be customized with their team's jersey plus accessories and stickers — caps, glasses, masks and more — to take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
